Some people like to scrapbook, while others like to knit, cross-stitch, crochet, or make crafts with fabrics. Still others use art supplies like paints, paper and decorative items to create beautiful hand-made items to share with family and friends. No matter what your pleasure, one of the keys to enjoyment is being able to easily put your hand son what you need or want quickly and easily, with no hassles - and preferably with one hand.
There are a lot of specialty products on the market to help contain and sort all of your supplies. In my experience as a fabric artist, those containers are overpriced and just don't accommodate my stuff. It's like they're the wrong size trays or boxes or something. Out of sheer frustration, I resorted to plain storage organizers and I've never looked back.
Storage Boxes Kids
The amazing thing is, storage organizers can be found in a ton of different sizes, colors and shapes. They have different types of handles and catch mechanisms (important for arthritic hands). Some stack while others don't. It's a veritable candy store of selection!
I decided to try large flat under-the-mattress style storage organizers to hold folded samples of fabric. It helps me avoid wrinkles and makes it easier to see a whole pattern at once. Then I use a series of smaller containers for my paints, patches and other decorative items. Because I use scissors, needle and thread for other projects, I keep those types of staples in an entirely separate storage organizer. That makes it easier to switch between hobbies.
Yes, you can buy the fancy crafter's kits. But why would you?
